The Wine Bar at Cable Bay is already one of the most consistently awarded bars in Auckland. Metro Magazine has just announced their Best of Auckland 2010 Awards and The Wine Bar has been awarded as one of the 3 best places to enjoy an afternoon drink for the third consecutive year.
This summer Cable Bay Chef William Thorpe has designed a new Small Plates menu. Each plate is a treat in itself, or together they are a fantastic excuse to stay a while and enjoy the sunset. The menu includes a selection of cured meats, French cheeses, small plates from the sea and land and freshly baked bread with dips. The marinated octopus and hand-made black angus midi burgers have already rocketed to stardom amongst staff and eager locals. To compliment the already extensive wine list and menu is a changing selection of food and wine specials on the black board.
Open from 12noon until late, The Wine Bar is the perfect place to unwind at the end of an eventful day on the island, or a destination in itself to sit and enjoy expansive views over the Hauraki Gulf and back to Auckland whilst surrounded by an olive grove and vineyard.
